Mack Truck Parts Guide: Aftermarket Options for Anthem, Pinnacle & Granite

Your guide to aftermarket Mack truck parts — covering the Anthem, Pinnacle, Granite, and CXU series. What parts are available, what to look for, and where to find them.

Mack Trucks: Built for the Long Haul

Mack has been building trucks in North America for over 120 years. The brand is synonymous with toughness — the bulldog on the hood isn't just a logo, it's a promise. Whether you're running an Anthem on the highway, a Pinnacle on regional routes, or a Granite in construction, these trucks are built to take punishment and keep going.

But every truck needs parts eventually. And when a Mack needs something replaced, OEM dealer pricing can hit hard. That's where quality aftermarket parts come in.

Mack Anthem Parts

The Mack Anthem launched in 2017 as Mack's modern highway tractor, competing directly with the Freightliner Cascadia and Kenworth T680. It's built on the same platform as the Volvo VNL (Mack and Volvo are both owned by the Volvo Group), which means some parts cross over between the two trucks.

Common Mack Anthem Replacement Parts

Headlight assemblies — The Anthem has a distinctive headlight design with an available LED signature light. Full assembly replacements are needed when moisture intrusion, lens damage, or electrical failures occur. OEM headlights can run $1,500+ per side from the dealer.

Front bumper — Chrome and painted bumper options for the Anthem. The bumper design integrates with the Anthem's aerodynamic front end.

Grille — The Anthem's grille with the bulldog emblem. Aftermarket options replicate the OEM design at a lower price.

Mirror assemblies — Heated, power-adjust mirror assemblies. These are among the most commonly damaged parts on any highway truck.

Hood components — Hood panels, latches, and trim pieces.

Mack Pinnacle Parts

The Pinnacle (and its predecessor variants) served as Mack's primary highway and regional tractor from 2006 until the Anthem replaced it. There are still thousands of Pinnacles on the road, and parts demand remains strong.

Common Mack Pinnacle Replacement Parts

Headlight assemblies — The Pinnacle headlight is a proven design, but after 10+ years of service, moisture and lens degradation are common. Aftermarket assemblies match OEM fitment.

Bumpers — Chrome and steel bumper options. The Pinnacle's bumper is a more traditional design than the Anthem.

Grilles — The Pinnacle grille design went through a few revisions over its production run. Make sure you match the grille to your specific model year.

Body panels — Hood panels, fender extensions, and cab components.

Mack Granite Parts

The Granite is Mack's vocational workhorse — construction, refuse, dump, concrete, and heavy haul. These trucks take more physical abuse than highway tractors, and the parts wear shows it.

Common Mack Granite Replacement Parts

Bumpers — The Granite bumper takes a beating on construction sites and in refuse operations. Chrome and steel options are available.

Headlight assemblies — Same headlight platform as the Pinnacle in many model years.

Mirrors — Mirror assemblies get hit frequently in tight jobsite maneuvering. West Coast mirror replacements are common.

Steps and brackets — Entry steps and mounting brackets wear from heavy use.

Mack CXU / CXN Series Parts

The CXU and CXN were Mack's highway tractors in the late 2000s through the mid-2010s. Many are still in active service, particularly in fleet applications.

Common CXU / CXN Parts

Headlight assemblies — Straightforward replacement with good aftermarket availability.

Bumpers — Chrome center bumpers and end caps.

Hood and body components — These trucks share some components with the Pinnacle platform.

Mack vs. Volvo: Parts Cross-Compatibility

Since Mack and Volvo are sister brands under the Volvo Group, some parts cross over between the two:

What may cross over:

  • Some electrical components and modules
  • Certain drivetrain and engine accessories (Mack uses Volvo's D11 and D13 engines)
  • Some cab interior components on the Anthem / VNL platform

What does NOT cross over:

  • Headlight assemblies — different shapes and mountings
  • Bumpers and grilles — completely different styling
  • Body panels — different cab dimensions
  • Chrome trim and exterior accessories

The bottom line: always order parts by your Mack model and year, not by cross-referencing Volvo part numbers. Even where cross-compatibility exists, the fitment may not be exact.

OEM vs. Aftermarket Mack Parts: Cost Comparison

Mack dealer pricing for common parts:

Part OEM Dealer Price Aftermarket Price
Headlight Assembly $1,200–$2,000/side $200–$500/side
Chrome Front Bumper $1,500–$3,000 $400–$1,000
Mirror Assembly $800–$1,500 $200–$600
Grille Assembly $600–$1,200 $150–$400

Prices are approximate and vary by model year and configuration.

The savings add up fast, especially for fleets maintaining multiple trucks. At 50-70% savings per part, aftermarket pays for itself on the first repair.

What to Look for in Aftermarket Mack Parts

Direct-Fit Compatibility

The part should be designed for your specific Mack model and year range. "Universal" or "fits most trucks" isn't good enough — truck parts need to bolt in without modification.

Material Quality

For bumpers, look for the same steel gauge as OEM. For headlights, look for DOT/SAE compliant lenses with UV coating. Chrome parts should use multi-layer plating (copper, nickel, chrome) for durability.

Complete Hardware Kits

A good aftermarket part comes with all the mounting hardware, gaskets, and brackets needed for installation. If you're buying a headlight assembly, it should include adjusters and mounting tabs. If you're buying a bumper, brackets and hardware should be included or clearly specified.

Warranty Coverage

Any reputable aftermarket parts supplier offers warranty coverage against defects. The standard is 1 year, with some suppliers offering longer coverage on certain parts.
