Hino Truck Parts Fitment Guide: 155, 195, 238, 258 & 338 Compatibility Chart

Updated April 2026 — Hino medium-duty trucks (155, 195, 238, 258, 338) share many exterior parts within the same generation, making them relatively easy to service with aftermarket components. This guide covers which parts interchange across Hino models and which are model-specific.

Hino Model Generations

The most important factor in Hino parts fitment is the generation, not the specific model number:

Generation Years Models Key Visual Feature
Gen 1 2005-2010 145, 165, 185, 238, 258, 268, 338 Rounded headlights, smaller cab
Gen 2 2011-2019 155, 195, 195h, 238, 258, 268, 338 Angular headlights, wider cab
Gen 3 2020+ L6, L7, XL7, XL8 New model names, redesigned front

Critical rule: Parts do NOT cross between generations. A 2010 Hino 258 headlight will NOT fit a 2011 Hino 258 even though the model number is the same.

Cross-Model Compatibility (Gen 2: 2011-2019)

Within the Gen 2 range, here's what interchanges:

Part 155/195 238/258/268 338
Headlights SHARED ✓ SHARED ✓ SHARED ✓
Turn Signals SHARED ✓ SHARED ✓ SHARED ✓
Grille SHARED ✓ SHARED ✓ SHARED ✓
Side Mirrors SHARED ✓ SHARED ✓ SHARED ✓
Bumper VARIES VARIES VARIES
Fenders DIFFERENT DIFFERENT DIFFERENT

The cab-forward design means the front fascia (headlights, grille, turn signals, mirrors) is largely shared across all Gen 2 models. Where they differ is in frame-mounted components (bumpers, fenders) which vary based on the specific GVWR rating and wheelbase.

Hino Part Number Format

Hino uses the format 81XXX-EXXXX where:

  • 81150 = Headlights and front lighting
  • 81110 = Front grille and surround components
  • 81551 = Tail lamps and rear lighting
  • 87910 = Mirror assemblies

The digits after 'E' identify the specific model application and revision.
