Kenworth T680, T880 & W900 Parts Guide: Aftermarket Quality at Wholesale Prices
Kenworth: The World's Best Trucks Deserve Smart Parts Buying
Kenworth is the sister brand to Peterbilt under the PACCAR umbrella, and shares that reputation for quality — and premium pricing. The T680 is Kenworth's aerodynamic flagship, the T880 handles vocational and regional duty, and the legendary W900 remains the most iconic truck on the road. All three generate strong demand for aftermarket replacement parts.
Kenworth T680: The Aero Leader
The T680 competes directly with the Freightliner Cascadia and Peterbilt 579 in the highway tractor segment. Its distinctive headlight design features integrated LED running lights on newer models, while the pre-2021 version uses a more conventional composite assembly.
Most Replaced T680 Parts
- Headlights: The T680's signature headlight is the most commonly replaced part. Pre-2021 and 2021+ models use completely different designs. Aftermarket assemblies cost $120–250 per side versus $500+ dealer pricing.
- Bumpers: Chrome three-piece bumper assemblies allow targeted replacement. Center sections and end caps are available separately.
- Mirrors: Heated, power-adjustable mirror assemblies with integrated turn signals. Aftermarket at $100–180 versus $350+ OEM.
- Grilles & Surrounds: Chrome grille assemblies and surrounds are popular upgrade and replacement items.
Kenworth T880: The Vocational Workhorse
The T880 handles everything from dump trucks to mixers to regional hauling. Its squared-off design uses a different headlight, bumper, and grille configuration than the T680. Parts are model-specific, so confirm your truck model before ordering. The T880 shares some components with the Peterbilt 567 (its PACCAR sibling), but external body parts are distinct.
Kenworth W900: The Living Legend
The W900 has been in continuous production since 1961, making it the longest-running truck model in history. Its classic long-nose design uses sealed-beam headlights (on older models) or composite assemblies (on newer versions). Chrome parts — bumpers, grille mesh, sun visors, and exhaust stacks — are the biggest aftermarket category for the W900. Owner-operators invest heavily in chrome to maintain the W900's iconic appearance.
Kenworth vs. Peterbilt: Shared Parts?
Since both brands are owned by PACCAR, there is occasional parts cross-compatibility — particularly for internal components, electrical systems, and some cab interior pieces. However, external body parts (headlights, bumpers, grilles, mirrors) are model-specific and are NOT interchangeable between Kenworth and Peterbilt models. Always order by your specific Kenworth model number.
