Semi Truck Headlight Bulb Size Chart: Every Make and Model Reference Guide

Replacing semi truck headlights starts with knowing the right bulb size. Every truck manufacturer uses different headlight assemblies, and even different model years of the same truck can require different bulbs. Ordering the wrong size wastes time and money — and leaves your truck sitting in the shop waiting for the correct parts.

This reference guide covers headlight bulb sizes for the most popular commercial trucks on the road, from Class 8 long-haul tractors to medium-duty delivery trucks. Bookmark this page for quick reference the next time you need to order replacement headlights or bulbs.

Freightliner Headlight Bulb Sizes

Freightliner Cascadia (2008-2017)

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 3157A

The pre-2018 Cascadia uses a composite headlight with separate low and high beam bulbs. These assemblies are prone to moisture intrusion after 4-6 years. Browse our Cascadia LED vs halogen upgrade guide for replacement options.

Freightliner New Cascadia (2018-Present)

Low beam: H11 (or LED on factory-equipped models)

High beam: 9005/HB3

DRL/Turn signal: LED integrated or 7443A

The New Cascadia introduced factory LED options. If your truck came with halogen, it uses the same H11/9005 combination. LED-equipped trucks require complete assembly replacement rather than bulb-only swaps.

Freightliner M2 106

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 3157A

The M2 shares similar bulb sizes with the Cascadia but uses a completely different headlight housing. Our Freightliner M2 headlight assembly is a direct-fit replacement for all M2 106 model years.

Peterbilt Headlight Bulb Sizes

Peterbilt 579 (2012-2021)

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 3157A

We carry multiple Peterbilt 579 headlight options: the standard assembly, the 579/587 dual-fit assembly, and the 2022+ updated design.

Peterbilt 579 (2022-Present)

Low beam: H11 or LED (factory option)

High beam: 9005/HB3 or LED

Turn signal: LED integrated

The refreshed 579 uses a restyled headlight that is NOT interchangeable with pre-2022 models. Always verify your model year before ordering.

Peterbilt 389

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 3157

Peterbilt 567

Low beam: H11

High beam: 9005/HB3

Turn signal: 3157A

Kenworth Headlight Bulb Sizes

Kenworth T680 (2013-Present)

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 7443A

The T680 uses a distinctive aerodynamic headlight design. See our T680 aftermarket parts guide for upgrade options.

Kenworth T880 (2014-Present)

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 3157A

The T880’s vocational duty cycle means headlights need replacement more frequently. Our Kenworth T880 headlight assembly is built with reinforced seals for harsh operating environments.

Kenworth W900

Low beam: H6054 sealed beam or H11 (composite models)

High beam: H6054 sealed beam or 9005/HB3

Turn signal: 3157

Early W900 models use sealed beam headlights (H6054), while newer models with composite housings use the standard H11/9005 combination. Check whether your W900 has round sealed beams or rectangular composite housings.

Hino Headlight Bulb Sizes

Hino 155 / 165 / 195

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 7443A

These compact cab-over trucks share a common headlight assembly. Our Hino 155/165/195 headlight assembly fits all three models.

Hino 238 / 258 / 268 / 338 / 358

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 7443A

The larger Hino models use a wider headlight assembly than the 155/195 series. We carry both the standard assembly and the projector headlight upgrade.

Isuzu Headlight Bulb Sizes

Isuzu NPR / NRR / NQR

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W) — newer models; 9006/HB4 — some older models

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 7443A

Isuzu updated the headlight design multiple times across the NPR production run. Pre-2008, 2008-2015, and 2016+ models all use different headlight assemblies. Always confirm model year when ordering.

International / Navistar Headlight Bulb Sizes

International LT625 / LT Series

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 7443A

For International LT upgrade options, see our International LT625 aftermarket parts guide.

International ProStar

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 3157A

Volvo Headlight Bulb Sizes

Volvo VNL (2004-2017)

Low beam: H11 (12V/55W)

High beam: 9005/HB3 (12V/65W)

Turn signal: 3157A

See our Volvo VNL aftermarket parts guide for complete upgrade recommendations.

Volvo VNL (2018-Present)

Low beam: LED standard on most trims

High beam: LED or 9005/HB3 (base models)

Turn signal: LED integrated

LED Conversion: What You Need to Know

Most modern semi trucks use the H11/9005 bulb combination, which makes LED conversion straightforward. Quality LED conversion bulbs are available for both sizes and typically produce 2-3x the light output of halogen bulbs while drawing less power.

Key considerations for LED conversion:

Heat management: LED bulbs generate heat at the base rather than at the lens. Make sure the LED bulb you choose has an adequate heat sink or fan that fits within the headlight housing — some LED bulbs with large heat sinks won’t fit in compact headlight housings.

Beam pattern: The LED chip placement must match the filament position of the halogen bulb it replaces. Poorly designed LED bulbs scatter light randomly, creating glare for oncoming traffic while actually reducing useful forward illumination.

Electrical compatibility: Some trucks may show “bulb out” warnings with LED bulbs due to the lower power draw. Load resistors or CANbus-compatible LED bulbs solve this issue.
